Early Belle also known as 'Early Bell' and 'Early Bella' is a variety of 'cutting' or 'leaf' celery which is grown for its profusion of celery flavoured leaves instead of stems.
It has a really fine flavour that is slightly stronger than stem varieties & is also good for producing lots of edible seeds.
We really love leaf celery as it is fairly easy to grow and tastes great in salads, soups and stews.
Sow from early February - March in trays or modules with heat. They can also be started in a cold greenhouse during April.
Do not cover the seed as they require light for good germination.
Pot up when plants have true leaves and grow on until you have sturdy plants of about 10-12 cm. Harden off & transplant from late May-June 30 cm apart.
Plant in rich, moist soil in shade/semi-shade & Keep well-watered.
OUR SEEDS ARE SPECIALLY SELECTED FOR UK CONDITIONS AND SOURCED FROM ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE, SOIL ASSOCIATED ORGANIC GROWERS.
ALL OUR PACKAGING IS 100% RECYCLABLE, BIODEGRADABLE AND COMPOSTABLE.
