Oregano seeds 'GREEK' ORGANIC
Seeds per pack; approx. 1400
Sow; Mar-July (all year round indoors).
Oregano alternative to Basil, perfect with tomato based dishes. Oregano has a warm and complex flavour.
Greek Oregano has green oval leaves with pointed tips and produces flowers that can be white or pink. These are particularly good at attracting bees and butteflies.
This oregano is a perennial, it loves a hot sunny spot and can grow up to 60cm in height.
Sow 0.5cm(¼ in) deep from March - July in trays or pots in a propagator or windowsill (22-24 Celcius).
When about 6cm tall transplant to individual pots (7.5 - 9cm).
For outdoors, harden off then transplant to about 30 cm apart after last frost (May - June)
Repot into larger pots/containers for windowsill/patio growing.
Direct sowings can be made from June.
Pick leaves at anytime before flowering. Stems can be hung and dry for winter. Cut some flowers to encourage leaf growth, but leave some flowers for the bees!
